Thank you LaSalle County Retired Teachers for the grant! Mrs. Albers wrote… The grant will be used to create and promote a culture of readers in our Jr. High. I want to help our students learn to love reading. I will be purchasing books from many genres and across our students' reading levels. To kick off our literacy incentive, the ELA teachers will be hosting a book tasting. With the help of Mrs. Harp, we will transform the D2E center into a "cafe" where students will be "tasting" (previewing) books and rating each book. Actual snacks will also be provided after the tasting. We will use students' ratings to put them into groups to read and discuss books with their peers in our classroom each week.

Tonight’s Regional Soccer game will be moved to tomorrow night at 6:30 due to rain. The championship game will be Friday at 6:00 at the Rock Island sports complex. Alleman Athletic complex 1186 43rd Ave, Moline, IL 61265, USA

Attention JH Boys Basketball: First practice will begin Monday, Oct 18th!! Sign up in the office or with Coach Mada!! Must have your $50 sports fee, your sports/regular physical, and the forms signed!

There will be no basketball open gym tomorrow.

We are unbelievably proud of our Red Raiders tonight!! In a back and forth, three-game match vs Newark, our ladies played their hearts out but came up just short, placing second at the conference tournament. Ladies, you played great, you supported one other, you have all the makings of a championship team, and you will see them again! We believe in you and thanks for giving us a team we can be proud of!!!

D2E shoutout to the Varsity Volleyballers as payback took place against Indian Creek tonight in the semifinals. The Red Raiders advance to the LTC Championship match tomorrow night against Newark at 6pm in Indian Creek!!!!
