On our last survey almost 50 students requested a bass fishing team. This is a great opportunity to get out to a fishing tournament! Better Fishing Association in Lasalle sponsors these two free events!

Come support all the young entrepreneurs Monday night at Open House! They have put in a lot of hours creating a business plan, working on advertising, designing and making their products. This is an expansion of our Entrepreneurial Club. Next year it will be a class in the JH!

School Lunch Hero Day is annually celebrated on the first Friday in May and highlights the cafeteria staff who prepare nutritious meals for our students. To really celebrate them, we are going to have dress-up days for the week. Join us in celebrating and encourage your students to follow the dress-up days too! Also, help spread the word that the lunches each day next week will be one of their top 5 favorites from the survey. Let's have a great week!

In previous years, Illinois Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center has produced and shared an electronic version of IVCC’s summer youth enrichment catalog that can be shared with parents via your school website or other communication tool. Summer enrichment programs will resume June-July for ages 5 -12 and Teens ages 13-17. Virtual STEAM camp opportunities are also available for ages 8-11 and 11-14. Our 2026 Summer Electronic Catalog is now available, and registration is open. Attached to this email are the "Summer Ed'Venture Camp Schedule" & "Camps Offered in Ottawa" .pdf files. Please share these with your staff and district students. Teen Career Pathway Programs We are excited to announce the fifth year of career pathway experiences for ages 13-17. These include: GRIP: Stem Academy SPARK: Jr. Welding Academy SCRUBS: Healthcare Pathways YES, CHEF Teen Culinary Camp PLC Bootcamp GEAR UP! Jr. Truck Driver Training NEW for 2026: Build It, Code It, Compete: Teen Robotics Camp NEW for 2026! Expanded IVCC Camp Schedule in Ottawa! We have expanded offerings to offer technology camps at the IVCC Ottawa Center in the month of June. Programs include: ROBLOX Makers, Virtual Reality, Make Your First 3D Video Game and Python Programmers. We are also in our third year of offering camps at Nell’s Woodland focused on the arts, ecology and science.
