The Starved Rock IPA is dedicating our Student Recognition Breakfast in the memory of John Ourth. John helped the Starved Rock Region of the Illinois Principal’s Association begin this annual student recognition. Without his encouragement and leadership, we would not have started this tradition. It was appropriate that in February of 2007, John was our guest speaker, after all he’s the reason the event was started. We believed him that this event would bring together principals, students, and their families for positive recognition.
Tragically and unexpectedly, John passed away in December of 2007. John will be remembered for his commitment to causes, be it the IPA or the National Association for Elementary School Principals. Under John’s leadership both organizations grew into premier professional organizations offering services to members and many opportunities for professional growth.
John lived his life to the full measurement of commitment, compassion, and love for his students and their families. For many of us, John was always there. He was there at our meetings. He was there when we needed advice. He was there when we just needed to talk to someone!
Students who are honored today have some of those same traits that made John Ourth such an outstanding leader and role model for others. John would be proud of each and every one of you. Use your leadership skills and fine character traits as you journey through life to make a difference in the world. For those who were privileged enough to know John Ourth, we know he “made a difference”!
Celebration will be at Earlville High School 415 W. Union Street at 8:30 a.m. on February 19, 2021

Because of weather today’s soccer game at Geneseo has been cancelled. This game will be rescheduled.

Passing along information from Geneseo AD regarding Saturdays game.
We will play at Richmond Hill park right off of I-80. The field is all the way back behind the HS Baseball field (take the entrance South of the tennis courts). There is a cross country meet out there tomorrow morning too so it will be crowded for parking. There are limited bleachers at the soccer field (there are numerous fields out there so instruct your parents to go to Field 6 in the back) so they may want to bring lawn chairs.

The soccer game scheduled for Monday Sep 23 at Sandwich has been cancelled.
For clarification our Jr High Soccer and Volleyball will be at Leland tonight starting at 4:15. There is no Jr High game with Leland on September 25th. Sorry for any confusion.

I just received this from NFHS. Please pass along.
We are experiencing a bug in our NFHS Network Live App on Apple devices which is causing Free events to show up as Subscription events (i.e. games that should be free to view are requiring a subscription to view). This only applies to the NFHS Network Live App on Apple devices – events are completely fine if viewed on our website (www.NFHSnetwork.com) or on the app on Android devices.
We have fixed the bug with an updated version of the app – however, we are still waiting on the updated version to be approved and released by Apple. This may take several days.
As a precaution, please communicate to your fans to NOT view your school’s events on the app for the next week.
They should instead view your school’s events by going to www.NFHSnetwork.com from their phone, tablet, or computer. The website is optimized for mobile devices, so the user experience will be just as easy as using the app.
If anyone mistakenly purchases a subscription pass, they can contact our Customer Support team about getting a refund: customersupport@nfhsnetwork.com.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will inform you immediately once the updated/fixed version of the app has been approved and released.
Thanks,

The Jr. High soccer/volleyball game that was scheduled on Sep 25th at Leland has been moved to Sep 18th

Chromebook insurance for the 2019-2020 school year must be paid in full by September 3. The cost is $30 and can be paid in the district office. After September 3, students without paid insurance will be responsible for the full cost of any repairs/replacements done this year.

Dear Parents,
This month, our schoolwide theme is "our school as a welcoming place where every student feels like he or she belongs." In our morning announcements and school assembly, we’ll be reminding students to welcome others and act and speak in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. In addition we’ll be reminding students to be Raider All STARS.
Safe
Teamwork
Always respectful
Responsible
We’ll also begin teaching the Second Step program, which includes lessons that support these behaviors.
Support your child at home in welcoming others and acting and speaking in safe, respectful, and responsible ways. Please tell your child’s teacher if you have questions about specific ways you can help your child with these behaviors at home.
Thank You, Mrs. Fruit

WE ARE HERE ALL SUMMER!!!!!
Parents and Grandparents: we now have openings for our Small Steps Program for ages 0-3! Raising a baby can be challenging and we are here to offer family support! Parenting is the most rewarding and most demanding job you will ever encounter. It is beneficial to have someone to talk through the daily challenges that come along with being a parent. With this support, we offer playgroups, family nights and field trips to connect with other parents and children. It is a wonderful community to be a part of at NO cost!
Small Steps is a part of Earlville CUSD #9. We also have programs serving Mendota and Oglesby. Call Deb at 815-246-8361 to learn more about our program!

Tonight’s (6/3) preschool graduation starting a 6pm and tomorrow’s (6/4) K-5 awards assembly starting at 8:10 will be shown over the NFHS network. Thank you!!!

Reminder: Early out on the last day of school Tuesday, June 4th at 1:30 pm!

Do you want to change lives? Do you want to be apart of something meaningful? Are you ready to make an impact? Well introducing “Adopt A Grandparent” program. This volunteer service is a group of high school students building bonds with the senior citizens of the Earlville community. These high school students will spend at least one hour a week with an assigned senior citizen and help out the senior citizens who I believe are forgotten. There will be a meeting this Friday, May 31 at 3:15 p.m. in Mrs. Guelde’s room.

See you soon at the awards assembly for JH!
